Welcome to the Blog Of The Riviera Maya! Are you planning a vacation to Cancun, Playa del Carmen or Tulum, Mexico? Are you looking for places to visit, things to do or where to eat? We want to share with you important information for your trips and travels in between Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Tulum. We explore the Riviera Maya and the Yucatan Peninsula on daily basis so we’re not only promoting our private tours and excursions, we also believe that we can be of help for many travelers and families coming back, year after year, looking for more beaches, restaurants, hotels and snorkel spots to explore.
Through this Blog Of The Riviera Maya we will be sharing insider information about our favorite playgrounds, so you can enjoy a better experience when you are on vacation, exploring the ruins or swimming in the refreshing cenotes of Mexico. We’re hoping to help first timers, repeat guests and all the travelers that love the Riviera Maya.
Many travelers choose Playa del Carmen because it is conveniently located between Cancun and Tulum. The location is everything, as it only takes a short 45 minute drive to get to Cancun Airport (north), and also a very easy 45 minute drive to get to Tulum (south). All the main attractions, all-inclusive resorts, luxury hotels, the famous beaches, golf courses, cenotes and zipline parks are located in between these towns, in this unique area that inspired this Blog Of The Riviera Maya.
Cancun is more like the big city, great if you’re looking for large hotels, big buildings, residential towers, night clubs and fancy shopping malls and restaurants. Tulum is the opposite, you will find small hotels, small shops, and recently very fancy (and expensive) restaurants and beach clubs. On the other hand, Playa del Carmen is the perfect combination of both places, Tulum and Cancun. We have some of the best resorts in Playacar and Downtown area, a great variety of shops and restaurants and also, probably the most important thing is: free access to the beach from almost any part of town. People watching is our favorite sport in Playa del Carmen, you’ll find out why when you go out and explore our famous Fifth Avenue also known as La Quinta Avenida.
